Creating your own Gothic Candle Holder

This month Rebecca shows us how to take an old piece of architectural salvage and turn it into a candle holder that can be hung on the wall. Before you dive headlong into this project, there are a few things that you are going to need to find and buy. You will want to find an appropriate piece of architectural salvage, some wire and either tea light holders or shot glasses to hold candles in. Now, here’s how we did it:

From here you can spray-paint the piece all black if you want for a wrought iron look, or leave it as it is for a craftier look. All that is needed is just a few candles and you’re done!
The biggest part of this project is the time that will be spent connecting the glasses to the piece of architectural salvage. Bear this in mind when you get started or you may be frustrated to discover that this may take you a couple of hours when you were hoping to spend a few minutes per glass. Enjoy and we’ll see you next month!
